EXTREME SOUTHEAST CAVALIER COUNTY...

SURVEY SUMMARY: RESULTS FROM THE NWS DAMAGE ASSESSMENT AND SPOTTER
PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE INDICATED AN EF1 TORNADO OCCURRED SATURDAY
AFTERNOON FROM ROUGHLY TWO MILES NORTH NORTHWEST OF UNION...ALONG
THE WEST EDGE OF UNION...TO AT LEAST 1 MILES SOUTH OF UNION. THERE
WAS SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO BOTH COTTONWOOD AND OAK TREES ALONG THE
PATH...WITH NUMEROUS OAK TRESS SNAPPED IN A GROVE SOUTH OF TOWN. ONE
WOODEN POWER POLE WAS SNAPPED AND A ROADSIDE YIELD SIGN WAS TWISTED
AND BENT. THIS TORNADO WAS ONE OF MULTIPLE TORNADOES VIEWED BY
SPOTTERS LOCATED NEAR EDINBURG.
