THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR SOUTHEAST SOUTH DAKOTA...
SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA...NORTHWEST IOWA...AND NORTHEAST NEBRASKA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

FIRE DANGER...
GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS WILL COMBINE WITH A DRY AIR MASS AND VERY
DRY VEGETATION TO PRODUCE DANGEROUS FIRE CONDITIONS THROUGHOUT
THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON. THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL BE ALONG AND
EAST OF THE JAMES RIVER VALLEY...WHERE FIRE DANGER WILL BE IN THE
EXTREME CATEGORY. AREAS WEST OF THE JAMES RIVER VALLEY IN SOUTH
CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA WILL SEE VERY HIGH FIRE DANGER THIS
AFTERNOON. STRONGLY CONSIDER POSTPONING ANY DEBRIS BURNING.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

THE GRASSLAND FIRE DANGER INDEX WILL REACH THE VERY HIGH CATEGORY
AGAIN ON TUESDAY...GENERALLY WEST OF A LINE FROM VERMILLION TO
SALEM TO HURON SOUTH DAKOTA. STRONG WINDS COULD ALSO PRODUCE
ELEVATED FIRE DANGER THROUGHOUT THE AREA ON WEDNESDAY...THOUGH
HIGHER HUMIDITY LEVELS MAY KEEP THE FIRE DANGER A LITTLE LOWER.

ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE TUESDAY NIGHT AND
WEDNESDAY MORNING...THOUGH ANY STORMS DURING THIS PERIOD ARE NOT
EXPECTED TO BE SEVERE. THE CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS WILL INCREASE
IN SOUTH CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA BY LATE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...THEN
SPREAD EAST ACROSS THE REGION WEDNESDAY NIGHT. WIDESPREAD SEVERE
WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED WITH THIS ACTIVITY. HOWEVER...A FEW
STRONGER STORMS ARE POSSIBLE FROM SOUTH CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA INTO
THE LOWER JAMES RIVER VALLEY DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON AND EARLY
EVENING ON WEDNESDAY.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL NOT BE NEEDED TODAY AND TONIGHT.
