THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR SOUTHEAST SOUTH DAKOTA...
SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA...NORTHWEST IOWA...AND NORTHEAST NEBRASKA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

THUNDERSTORMS...
THERE IS A CHANCE OF A FEW SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TONIGHT AS A
COLD FRONT MOVES ACROSS THE AREA. ANY STORMS THAT DO FORM WILL
REMAIN WEAK WITH ONLY LIGHT PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS.

WIND AND FOG...
A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE ACROSS THE AREA TONIGHT. RIGHT BEHIND THE
WIND SHIFT...WINDS COULD BRIEFLY GUST AROUND 30 TO 40 MPH FOR AN
HOUR OR TWO. ANY LIGHT SHOWER ACTIVITY CAN ALSO ADD TO THE WIND
SPEEDS IN THESE SITUATIONS AS COLD AIR RUSHES DOWNWARD FROM
ALOFT.

FIRE DANGER...
BREEZY SOUTHWEST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH GUSTING UP TO 35
MPH...WILL DRAW MILD AND DRY AIR INTO THE REGION WEDNESDAY.
AFTERNOON RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES ARE EXPECTED TO DROP INTO THE
15 TO 20 PERCENT RANGE...CREATING EXTREME FIRE DANGER ACROSS THE
AREA. NO OUTDOOR BURNING SHOULD TAKE PLACE TODAY.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

AN EXTREME FIRE DANGER WILL BE IN EFFECT FOR SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA
ON THURSDAY. WINDS WILL AVERAGE 15 TO 30 MPH IN THE MIDDAY AND
AFTERNOON HOURS...COUPLED WITH HUMIDITY VALUES FALLING TO AROUND
25 PERCENT. JUST TO THE WEST...THE GRASSLAND FIRE DANGER INDEX
WILL LIKELY REACH THE VERY HIGH CATEGORY FROM HURON SOUTH
DAKOTA...TO SIOUX FALLS...TO STORM LAKE IOWA. THESE AREAS WILL
HAVE A BIT LESS WIND...BUT HUMIDITY WILL STILL BE A VERY DRY.
