...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

In 1989, a heavy wet snow storm dropped a two day snowfall of up
to a foot across the Tri State area. The low temperature in
Goodland fell to 8 degrees, a record low temperature for the date.

In 2011, strong southwest winds developed during the afternoon, producing
wind gusts to 60 mph across eastern Colorado and a 65 mph gust in Sherman County.
