...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 245 PM EDT
FOR SOUTHWESTERN MCDOWELL COUNTY...

At 228 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 6 miles west of
Marion, or 4 miles northeast of Old Fort, moving east at 5 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind
         damage to trees and power lines.

Locations impacted include...
Sugar Hill, Pleasant Gardens, Old Fort, and Woodlawn.
