Flood Advisory

.Though the advisory area has seen a short break in rainfall, a new
round of showers and thunderstorms are moving in from the west.
Additional rainfall will aggravate flooding issues in the advisory
area. Be cautious if you must travel this morning, and be alert for
flooded roadways. If the new rains are significant enough, flash
flood warnings are possible.

...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall can be expected to
  continue as a new round of rainfall is imminent for the advisory
  area.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following
  counties, Grimes, Houston, Madison, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto,
  Trinity and Walker.

* WHEN...Until 645 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  River or stream flows are elevated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 438 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain
    has fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Huntsville, Trinity, Groveton, Point Blank, Lovelady,
    Riverside, Bedias, Kennard, Sebastopol, Huntsville State
    Park, Iola, Crabbs Prairie, Oakhurst, Pennington, Centralia
    and Carlos.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
