Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
339 AM EDT Fri May 3 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Vertical wind profile shows wind max at less than 3kft early this
morning but will mix out through the morning leading to a
favorable vert wind profile. Two noteworthy wind shifts are
expected today. Mostly dry back door cold front sags S through
the Nern half of the forecast area this afternoon, turning
winds Eerly behind it, ~10-15kt. Seabreeze over Sern zones
will shift winds to become more Serly. Some gusts will be
associated with seabreeze passage, but not as strong as the
backdoor front`s winds.

MinRHs in the mid 30s inland ahead of the seabreeze and/or front.

Rain chances increase this weekend and into early next week.
