The National Weather Service in Omaha has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Central Shelby County in southwestern Iowa...

* Until 1000 PM CDT.

* At 924 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
  was located 5 miles northeast of Shelby, or 6 miles southwest of
  Harlan, moving northeast at 60 mph. A second area of rotation
  capable of producing a tornado was located 2 miles southeast of
  Portsmouth, also moving northeast at 60 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. This storm has a history of
           producing a tornado near Shelby.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree
           damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near...
  Harlan around 930 PM CDT.
  Irwin around 940 PM CDT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.
