The National Weather Service in Charleston West Virginia has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Southeastern Kanawha County in central West Virginia...
  West central Fayette County in southeastern West Virginia...
  Eastern Boone County in central West Virginia...

* Until 545 PM EDT.

* At 511 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Burnwell, or
  17 miles west of Fayetteville, moving northeast at 40 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Montgomery, Cedar Grove, East Bank, Glasgow, Smithers, Pratt,
  Burnwell, Powellton, Handley, Leewood, Dawes, Sharon, and Eskdale.

This includes West Virginia Turnpike between mile markers 66 and 84.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for central and
southeastern West Virginia.
