369 FZCA72 TJSJ 081028 MWSSJU Marine Weather Statement National Weather Service San Juan PR 628 AM AST Wed May 8 2024 AMZ711-716-726-081830- Atlantic Waters of Puerto Rico and USVI from 10 NM to 19.5N- Coastal Waters from Cabo San Juan to the waters between Anegada Island and Virgin Gorda and North 10 NM- Coastal waters east of Puerto Rico, around Vieques, and around and just north of Culebra and Saint John- 628 AM AST Wed May 8 2024 ...CLUSTER OF THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE ATLANTIC WATERS... At 626 AM AST, the Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms across portions of the offshore Atlantic waters and coastal waters near Vieques, Culebra and northern USVI, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and occasional lightning. These thunderstorms were nearly stationary over open waters. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. $$
