...New UPDATE...

.UPDATE...
Issued at 859 PM EDT Mon Apr 22 2024

No significant changes to the previous forecast appear necessary.

&&

.NEAR TERM...
(Through Tuesday)
Issued at 219 PM EDT Mon Apr 22 2024

Beautiful weather is expected through the next day or so as high
pressure settles over the region. A favorable setup for radiational
cooling overnight with clear skies and calm winds will let low
temperatures fall into the 40s across almost the entire area. Dry
conditions are forecast to persist into tomorrow as well with highs
climbing into the mid to upper 70s.

&&

.SHORT & LONG TERM...
(Tuesday night through Sunday)
Issued at 219 PM EDT Mon Apr 22 2024

Upper-level ridging will build over the southeast US through the
week with high pressure gradually sliding off to the east. A
trough swings through the Great Lakes mid week, which will send a
cold front close to our area, but it won`t quite make it. Stronger
ridging returns late in the week, which will allow temperatures to
warm into the middle to upper 80s for highs and upper 50s to mid
60s for lows. The next system will organize over the Plains this
weekend, which may lead to some breezy weather thanks to a
tightening pressure gradient, but no rain is expected as it stays
well to our west.

&&

.AVIATION...
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 718 PM EDT Mon Apr 22 2024

VFR conditions continue through the period. Northerly winds shift
to southerly by mid Tuesday morning. Light winds persist.

&&

.MARINE...
Issued at 219 PM EDT Mon Apr 22 2024

Generally light easterly winds are expected during the next
several days with tranquil seas thanks to high pressure. Winds
this weekend will clock around out of the south and increase as
the pressure gradient tightens ahead of an approaching cold front.

&&

.FIRE WEATHER...
Issued at 219 PM EDT Mon Apr 22 2024

Surface high pressure will settle into the region Tuesday, which
will lead to very light transport winds around 5-10 mph. Mixing
heights will similarly be allowed to build to 5500-6000 ft across
the region Wednesday and Thursday with high pressure overhead. Overall,
with weak transport winds, dispersions are not expected to be too
high even through mixing heights will be high. Minimum RH values
will drop into the low 30s to upper 20s across the area, but are
expected to improve into the mid 30s to low 40s by Wednesday.
There are no fire weather concerns at this time.

&&

.HYDROLOGY...
