AFTER THE PREVIOUS THREE MONTHS OF ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES CONCORD
WAS BELOW NORMAL IN AUGUST. 9 OF THE LAST 13 MONTHS HAVE BEEN BELOW
NORMAL DATING BACK TO AUGUST OF 2013. BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES
PERSISTED FOR MOST OF THE MONTH UNTIL WARMER WEATHER ARRIVED NEAR
THE END OF THE MONTH. HEAVY RAIN FELL ON THE 13TH OF THE MONTH WHEN
2.12 INCHES OF RAIN WAS RECORDED.

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS 66.3 DEGREES. THIS WAS 2.2

TOP 40 LIST OF COOLEST AUGUST`S ON RECORD IN THE 146-YEAR HISTORY OF
RECORDS AT CONCORD. THE COOLEST AUGUST WAS 1903 WITH AN AVERAGE
TEMPERATURE OF ONLY 61.1 DEGREES. THE WARMEST WAS 1872 WITH AN
AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 73.6 DEGREES.

A TOTAL OF 3.82 INCHES OF RAIN FELL IN AUGUST. THIS WAS 0.64 INCHES
ABOVE NORMAL. MOST OF THE RAIN (88 PERCENT) FELL ON ONLY TWO DAYS
