A PERSISTENT UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE POSITIONED OVER THE
PACIFIC NORTHWEST COASTLINE RESULTED IN WARMER THAN AVERAGE
TEMPERATURES FOR HELENA IN FEBRUARY 2015. TEMPERATURES WERE WARMEST
DURING THE SECOND WEEK OF THE MONTH. NEW DAILY RECORD HIGH
TEMPERATURES WERE SET ON THE 6TH...13TH AND 14TH...AND TIED ON THE
8TH. THE DAILY RECORD HIGH OF 67 DEGREES ON THE 6TH IS THE 4TH
WARMEST DAY OF RECORD FOR THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY. THE DAILY RECORD
WARM MINIMUM TEMPERATURE OF 43 DEGREES SET ON THE 7TH IS THE 10TH
WARMEST MINIMUM TEMPERATURE FOR FEBRUARY. A SERIES OF ARCTIC COLD
FRONTS DURING THE LAST WEEK OF THE MONTH BROUGHT THE AVERAGE MONTHLY
TEMPERATURE DOWN TO 34.3 FAHRENHEIT...YIELDING THE 12TH WARMEST
FEBRUARY OF RECORD. MONTHLY TOTAL PRECIPITATION WAS SLIGHTLY ABOVE
AVERAGE WHILE SNOWFALL WAS BELOW AVERAGE.
