MONTH OF MAY. WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 83.F, IT WAS THE 6TH
WARMEST MAY ON RECORD. TEMPERATURES TOPPED OUT AT 93F THREE TIMES
DURING THE MONTH, AND BOTTOMED OUT AT 68F ON MAY 8TH. IT WAS THE
11TH DRIEST MAY ON RECORD WITH 1.62", OR 1.73" BELOW NORMAL. THE
GREATEST DAILY RAINFALL WAS 0.84" ON MAY 14TH.

THE SPRING OF 2017 CONTINUED THE SAME TREND AS THE MONTH OF MAY,
WITH ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND BELOW NORMAL RAINFALL IN
MARATHON. WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 79.6F, IT WAS THE 6TH
WARMEST SPRING ON RECORD, AND WITH AN AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE OF
74.1F, IT WAS THE 5TH WARMEST ON RECORD. WITH JUST 4.64" DURING
MARCH, APRIL, AND MAY, IT WAS THE 11TH DRIEST SPRING ON RECORD,
COMING IN AT 3.48" BELOW NORMAL. RAINFALL AND TEMPERATURE NORMALS
(1981-2010) FOR MARATHON ARE COMPRISED OF DATA COLLECTED FROM DUCK
KEY AND THE MARATHON AIRPORT SINCE ITS INCEPTION IN 1998.
