...Heavy rainfall expected Monday into Tuesday afternoon...
A weather system will move north from the Gulf of Mexico and is
expected to bring heavy rain to the area. The first round of heavy
rainfall is expected to arrive Monday morning and continue through
Monday afternoon. Additional heavy rainfall is expected Monday
evening through Tuesday morning. Rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches
per hour are possible. While the exact placement of the heavy
rainfall is uncertain at this time, rainfall amounts of 2 to 3
inches are possible, with possible locally higher amounts.
Although most rivers are very low at the onset due to dry
conditions, excessive rainfall could cause rises on at least some
rivers and may lead to minor flooding. People living near rivers
and other low lying flood prone areas should monitor the latest
forecast over the next 24 hours.
