* Heavy rain fell across much of southern...central and eastern
Arkansas the last couple days...with 3 to locally more than 5
inches observed. Several more rounds of showers and
thunderstorms are in the forecast through Saturday. An
additional 2 to 4 inches of rainfall are forecast...with locally

saturated. As a result...the runoff potential has
increased...resulting in an increased threat for flash and river
flooding through Saturday. There have already been numerous
high water reports...including flooding of roads and road
closures. If expected rainfall amounts are realized...this could
become a dangerous situation...with water possibly getting into
  homes and businesses in places.

.PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for for high water
problems based on the current forecast of heavy rain.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
