THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND JUNCTION  HAS ISSUED A

* SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR...
  SOUTHWESTERN MESA COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL COLORADO...

* UNTIL 515 PM MDT

* AT 208 PM MDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAINFALL DUE TO
  REPEATED THUNDERSTORMS. THIS WILL CAUSE SMALL STREAM FLOODING IN
  THE ADVISORY AREA. DOPPLER RADAR HAS ESTIMATED UP TO ONE INCH OF
  RAIN HAD ALREADY FALLEN IN SOME LOCATIONS.

* FLOODING WILL REMAIN OVER MAINLY RURAL AREAS OF SOUTHWESTERN MESA
  COUNTY BUT COULD IMPACT HIGHWAY 141 SOUTH OF GATEWAY.

THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING STREAMS AND DRAINAGES...JOHN BROWN
CREEK...SALT CREEK AND COTTONWOOD CANYON.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...AS WELL AS CREATE FLOWING WATER IN NORMALLY DRY
WASHES AND CANYONS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL ACROSS FLOODED ROADS.
