...THE FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON HST FOR THE ISLAND
OF MAUI IN MAUI COUNTY...

At 916 AM HST...radar indicated heavy rain continuing over the
eastern slopes of Haleakala east of a line from Keanae to Kaupo.
Radar estimated rain rates to be 1 to 2 inches per hour. Rainfall
has significantly diminished over the rest of Maui so the advisory
area has been reduced to include only the eastern third of the
island.

Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to...
Huelo, Kaupo, Kipahulu, Nahiku, Hana, Kailua, Haleakala National
Park, Wailua and Hamoa.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to
flooding.

Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don`t drown.

&&

A flash flood watch is also in effect for Maui County through Sunday
afternoon.
