...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers
and creeks in Indiana...

  East Fork White River...Muscatatuck River...Tippecanoe River...
  Wabash River...White River...Wildcat Creek...


.Widespread flooding will develop this week in much of central and
southern Indiana and continue into early March. As of late Tuesday
evening the highest levels of flooding are expected to be along
the Tippecanoe and Wabash Rivers in northern and western Indiana.
Near major flooding is possible along the Tippecanoe River.

Rainfall of 1 to 3 inches has fallen in Indiana since February
15 with the heaviest rain in northern Indiana.  An additional 1 to 2
inches of rain is expected by Thursday morning.  More rain will fall
at weeks end that may cause higher crests and prolong flooding.

Flooding will affect numerous local and state roads, considerable
agricultural land, and possibly some residential areas.

Late Tuesday evening flooding was confined to the Tippecanoe
and Wabash Rivers in northern and western Indiana.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

  The Tippecanoe River AT Oakdale Dam at Lake Freeman near Yeoman.
* At 10:00 PM Tuesday the flow was 18968 cfs.
* Flood stage is 13000 cfs.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 21880 cfs by
  early Thursday morning. The river will fall below flood stage
  Friday before midnight.
* At 22000 cfs...Major to near record flooding along the Tippecanoe
  River with flows from Oakdale Dam in excess of 22,000 cubic feet
  per second.  Evacuation of many people downstream of Oakdale Dam in
  flood prone areas is necessary.  Flooding closes many local roads
  including some that are covered by more than a foot of water.
  Substantial property damage downstream of Oakdale Dam.  Flooded
  areas may include Horseshoe Bend and Camp Tecumseh downstream of
  Oakdale Dam.

  early Thursday morning then begin falling.
* At 14.0 feet...Extensive flooding in progress.  County Road 1215 W
  flooded near TNT Pool Supply south of SR 18 in the Delphi area.
  Nearly all low local roads are flooded.

* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 23.5 feet by
  Thursday early afternoon then begin falling.
* At 24.0 feet...Significant  flood.   Flood waters along N River Rd
  extend from just north of the Happy Hollow Rd intersection to near
  the Old Soldiers Home, a distance of nearly 2 miles.  The eastern
  end of Catherwood Dr is now in the river.  Some residents along N
  River Rd, in the Davis Ferry Rd area and Barton Beach Rd area, may
  leave.  Low parking areas of Williamsburg Apt complex flood.
  County Road 75 S west of CR 700 W floods.  Fountain CR 500 E just
  north of Riverside and River Rd near Williamsport flood.

* At 26.5 feet...State Road 234 near Lodi begins to flood. Homes are
  affected along Warren CR South on opposite side of river.

* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 26.2 feet by
  Saturday early afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage
  Friday early afternoon.
* At 26.0 feet...Extensive lowland flooding in progress.  Flood waters
  at the edge of SR 234 near Lodi just west of the bridge over the
  Wabash River. Several county roads in Fountain, Parke and
  Vermillion counties are flooded, some by more than 2 feet of water.

  levee may leak.  South Lake Area extensively floods.  Many local
  roads are under several feet of water.

  The Wabash River at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site.

* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 24.1
  feet early Wednesday morning.
* At 24.0 feet...Extensive flooding is in progress.  Rural roads in
  eastern Clark and Crawford counties in Illinois are impassible.  A
  few mobile home residences and area along Hutson Creek just south
  of Hutsonville flood.  Flood is at critical level for most of
  levees.  Extensive seep water is behind levees.  Water surrounds
  residential areas of Riverton, Riverview, Hutsonville and eastern
  York.

* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tomorrow evening and continue
  to rise to near 23.2 feet by Wednesday morning.
* At 24.0 feet...Extensive flooding is in progress.  Most levees are
  at critical levels.  Water level near the top of a few levees.
  High water begins to affect residences in eastern Palestine,
  Illinois and those along East River Road just southeast of
  Palestine.  Some evacuations are necessary. Rodeo area in Leaverton
  Park begins to flood.  Water near or over East River Road south of
  Palestine.

* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Friday afternoon and continue
  to rise to near 22.7 feet by Thursday evening.
* At 23.0 feet...Extensive flooding is in progress on the northside of
  Vincennes along Old Terre Haute Road.  Flooding affects local
  sawmill.  At least 1 family may move from their home.  The river is
  more than a mile wide at the Red Skelton Bridge.

* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Thursday early afternoon and
  continue to rise to near 14.8 feet by Friday early afternoon.  The
  river will fall below flood stage by Saturday before midnight.
* At 15.0 feet...Lowland agricultural flooding in progress.  County
  road 725 N (near Rockford) floods.  Indiana 258 east of Cortland
  may flood.  On December 8 2014...about an inch of water flowed over
  Reddington Street near the East Fork White River Bridge as the
  river crested.

* At 10:30 PM Tuesday the stage was 18.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to fall through Friday then rise
  to floodstage on Sunday.
* At 20.5 feet...Lawrenceport Road just east of Lawrenceport and on
  the south side of river begins to flood around this level.  By 22
  feet this road is impassable.  During typical floods in this
  area...this portion of the road can be flooded by 5 to more than 10
  feet of water.  During the January 2005 flood...this area would
  have been near the "bottom" of the river...underwater by nearly 17
  feet.  In the great March 1913 flood...more than 25 feet of water
  would have covered this location.

  River Edge Lane and the section of River Road located north of 86th
  Street and south of I-465.

  isolated because their driveway lanes flood.  County Line Road on
  north side of river has one foot of water and begins to flood in a
  second place.  Spencer Public Access extensively floods.  North
  Moon Road in very rural northwest Monroe County is flooded by the
  White River.

  closed SR 358 between SR 67 at Edwardsport to SR 57 at Plainville.
  SR 358 floods on the east side of the river between the levees.

* At 20.5 feet...County Road 250 West from State Road 56 floods and
  blocks the vehicle access to Dodge City.  During the March 2008
  flood the river remained above this level from late afternoon March
  19 through April 9.   As mid-March 2011 high water was receding...
  SR 257 south of Washington reopened when Shoals was at 10.5 feet
  and falling steadily for the past 2 days.

* from Wednesday morning to Saturday morning.
* At 10:45 PM Tuesday the stage was 9.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tomorrow late morning and
  continue to rise to near 12.4 feet by Thursday morning.  The river
  will fall below flood stage by early Saturday morning.
