FLOOD STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INDIANAPOLIS IN
1046 AM EDT THU MAR 26 2015

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers in
western and southwest Indiana...

  Wabash River...White River...


.Rainfall of one to two inches since Tuesday night will cause
elevated river levels and lowland flooding along the Wabash and
White Rivers.  High water will not be as extensive as seen earlier
in March.  River levels will remain high into early  April.

Flooding will affect some of the same local roads...river parks and
agricultural land as experienced earlier in the month.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

  The White River at Spencer.
* from Saturday afternoon to late Saturday night.
* At  9:30 AM Thursday the stage was 8.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to near flood stage
  Saturday early afternoon.
* At 14.0 feet...Lowland flooding begins in the Spencer and Gosport
  areas.  The river begins to backup Rattlesnake, Fall, McCormicks,
  Limestone, Big and Bean Blossom Creeks.  Spencer Public Access site
  begins to flood.

* from Friday morning to Monday evening.
* At  8:00 AM Thursday the stage was 14.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tomorrow morning and continue
  to rise to near 19.1 feet by early Sunday morning.the river will
  fall below flood stage by late Monday morning.
* At 20.0 feet...River road north of Greene CR 150 W is flooded.  Low
  agricultural fields flood.

* At  9:30 AM Thursday the stage was 9.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to near flood stage early
  Sunday morning.
* At 13.0 feet...Flooding of a few lowlands begins in Greene County.

  The White River at Edwardsport.
* from Friday evening to Wednesday morning.
* At  7:00 AM Thursday the stage was 11.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tomorrow evening and continue
  to rise to near 16.5 feet by early Sunday morning.the river will
  fall below flood stage by Tuesday evening.
* At 16.0 feet...Old Vincennes Road and residential property in this
  area begin to flood.  Flooding of low agricultural fields occurs
  along portions of the river.

  The White River at Petersburg.
* from Saturday morning to Wednesday evening.
* At  9:30 AM Thursday the stage was 11.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by late Saturday morning and
  continue to rise to near 17.2 feet by Sunday evening.the river will
  fall below flood stage by Wednesday morning.
* At 17.0 feet...Flooding affects low agricultural lands, low oil
  fields and closes Bottoms Rd...Brothers Rd and East Govenors Road
  in Knox County.  In agricultural season...farmers are concerned at
  this stage.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The White River at Hazleton.
* from late Saturday night to Thursday April 02.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 17.2
  feet Monday morning.
* At 17.0 feet...Lowest reading available from the Hazleton Staff
  Gage.  Since the 1930s the White River has moved from the "old
  wellhouse" to several hundred yards from the "old wellhouse".  The
  river returns to the "old wellhouse" around 17 to 17.5 feet.

  The Wabash River at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site.
* from late Friday night to late Tuesday night.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 16.6
  feet Saturday evening.
* At 16.0 feet...Old Darwin Road and a few low rural roads between
  York and Hutsonville, Illinois begin to flood.  Agricultural
  flooding begins along portions of the river.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Wabash River at Riverton.
* from Saturday evening to Tuesday afternoon.
* At 10:00 AM Thursday the stage was 10.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Saturday evening and continue
  to rise to near 15.1 feet by early Sunday morning.the river will
  fall below flood stage by early Tuesday morning.
* At 16.0 feet...Some agricultural lands underwater.  A few rural
  roads in Crawford County, Illinois close as water backs up Minnow
  slough.  High water affects campground at Leaverton Park in
  Palestine.  A few private roads near the Gill Township levee in
  Sullivan County may flood.  Water level is at the top of most
  makeshift levees.
