...THE FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 915 AM EST FRIDAY FOR
SOUTHERN WATAUGA COUNTY...

At 224 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause
minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen. It has not been confirmed, but it is possible, that
river ice may also be contributing to rises at Sugar Grove and
Foscoe along the Watauga River. At this time, no flooding has been
reported.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Boone...
Blowing Rock...
Beech Mountain...
Foscoe...
and Sugar Grove.

Additional rainfall of an inch is expected over the area. This
additional rain will make minor flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding,
including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather Service
by calling toll free at 1...8 6 6...2 1 5...4 3 2 4. Reports and
