.DISCUSSION...Southerly gap winds in the eastern Alaska Range
passes are gusting into the 30 to 60 mph range this morning.
These winds will persist into the early afternoon hours before
diminishing. The combination of the strong southerly winds
with relative humidity values near 20 percent will produce Red
Flag conditions near Delta Junction and Fort Greeley this
morning into this afternoon. Winds become north to northeast
across much of the Interior Sunday and increase Sunday
afternoon and evening into the 10 to 15 mph range, especially
from the Yukon Flats into the White Mountains. Shower chances
increase Sunday as an upper level disturbance moves northwest
across the Interior.
