FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR ALASKA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ANCHORAGE AK
705 AM AKDT SUN MAY 1 2016

.DISCUSSION...

A DEEPENING LOW OVER SOUTHWEST...CENTERED OVER BRISTOL BAY NORTHWARD
INTO THE LOWER KUSKOKWIM VALLEY...WILL ORGANIZE RATHER NUMEROUS AND
WIDESPREAD SHOWERS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THERE WILL BE SUFFICIENT
INSTABILITY TO DRIVE THUNDERSTORMS AS WELL WITH ALL AREAS FROM BETHEL EAST
UNDER THE THREAT. OTHERWISE...GIVEN THE INCREASED CLOUD COVER AND
MOISTURE...MIN RH VALUES WILL BE HIGHER TODAY AND MONDAY. THE LOW
WILL MOVE NORTHEAST MONDAY...BUT THERE WILL BE A THREAT FOR MORE
AFTERNOON AND EVENING THUNDERSTORMS...BUT GIVEN MORE INSTABILITY...
THERE MAY BE STRONGER AND MORE CONCENTRATED AREAS OF THUNDERSTORMS NEAR
THE SURFACE LOW.
