Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southern New England
National Weather Service Taunton MA
414 PM EDT Fri Mar 24 2017

.DISCUSSION...
High pressure will move farther offshore tonight behind which a
southwest flow of milder air will continue to spread into Southern
New England. On Saturday, a cold front will drop south across
our region ahead of Canadian high pressure building over Northern
New England. Ahead and along this cold front will be the chance
for rain.

The cold front will stall just south of New England Saturday night,
when there will be a lull in the action as high pressure noses down
across our region. The stalled cold front will begin to lift
northward as a warm front Sunday and Sunday night which could
result in a period of light rain. But cold air draining south into
interior valleys, would produce scattered freezing rain.

The minimum relative humidity will be 60 to 70 percent on
Saturday and Sunday.

.OUTLOOK...Monday through Friday

A storm system will finally move through our region early next week,
but not before more chances for rain Monday and Tuesday. Clearing
and drying conditions follow on Wednesday and Thursday, then there
there is another chance for rain on Friday.
