FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL/NORTHERN VERMONT AND
NORTHERN NEW YORK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BURLINGTON VT
430 AM EDT MON MAY 2 2016

...ANOTHER ROUND OF RAIN FOR THE AREA TODAY AND TONIGHT...

.DISCUSSION...
RAINFALL ACROSS THE AREA ON SUNDAY RANGED FROM A TENTH OF AN INCH
TO A THIRD OF AN INCH. MORE RAIN IS EXPECTED TODAY INTO THE FIRST
HALF OF TONIGHT AS ANOTHER TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE MOVES ACROSS THE
REGION. LOOKING AT ABOUT A TENTH OF AN INCH OF RAIN FOR THE SAINT
LAWRENCE VALLEY OF NEW YORK WITH TWO TO FOUR TENTHS EXPECTED
ELSEWHERE. THE RAIN AND CLOUD COVER WILL RESULT IN BELOW NORMAL
TEMPERATURES TODAY AND THIS WILL HELP TO CREATE HIGH HUMIDITY
VALUES. WARMER AND DRIER WEATHER IS EXPECTED ON TUESDAY...BUT
AFTERNOON RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL ONLY LOWER INTO THE 35 TO 45
PERCENT RANGE. THUS NO FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS ARE ANTICIPATED TODAY
THROUGH TUESDAY. THIS SHOULD BE THE CASE LOOKING OUT IN THE
WEDNESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY TIME PERIOD AS A DEVELOPING UPPER LEVEL
LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS CLOSE TO OUR AREA TO KEEP CLOUDS AND A
CHANCE OF SHOWERS THROUGHOUT A GOOD PART OF THE PERIOD. WINDS AND
HUMIDITY VALUES WILL NOT REACH CRITICAL LEVELS AT ANY POINT LATER
THIS WEEK INTO THE WEEKEND.
