FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA FOR SOUTH CAROLINA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
256 PM EDT WED JUL 23 2014

.DISCUSSION...EVEN THOUGH AVAILABLE ATMOSPHERIC MOISTURE REMAINS
HIGH WITH WEAK TO MODERATE INSTABILITY PRESENT THIS AFTERNOON...
THE ABSENSE OF GOOD VERTICAL LIFT WILL LIMIT SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM
DEVELOPMENT.

A WEAK PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL SUPPORT POOR DISPERSION TONIGHT...
WITH PATCHY FOG POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT INTO THURSDAY MORNING.
HOWEVER...THE OVERNIGHT INVERSION AND ANY FOG SHOULD BREAK UP
PROMPTLY AROUND 8 AM.

SURFACE AND TRANSPORT WINDS WILL INCREASE DURING THE DAY THURSDAY...
WITH A BETTER CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AFTERNOON
AND EVENING AS A SUMMERTIME COLD FRONT APPROACHES FROM THE NORTHWEST.
