FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
253 PM EDT SAT JUL 30 2016

.DISCUSSION...A BROAD UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE CENTERED
OVER THE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY WILL PUSH FARTHER SOUTH AND EAST
THROUGH MONDAY...SUPPRESSING THE PERSISTENT RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE.
AS A RESULT...ATMOSPHERIC MOISTURE WILL INCREASE AND SUPPORT
A SOMEWHAT BETTER CHANCE OF AFTERNOON AND EVENING THUNDERSTORMS
EACH DAY.

AT THE SURFACE...A WEAK AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WILL EXTEND DOWN
OVER THE FORECAST AREA FROM THE NORTH. WITH A RELAXED PRESSURE
GRADIENT...DISPERSION THIS EVENING THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY MORNING
WILL BE GENERALLY POOR. LOW-LEVEL HUMIDITIES ARE NOT HIGH ENOUGH
FOR SIGNIFICANT FOG TO DEVELOP...ALTHOUGH PATCHY GROUND FOG IS
POSSIBLE IN ANY LOCATIONS WHICH RECEIVE AMPLE SHOWERS.

SURFACE WINDS SUNDAY WILL BE FROM THE SOUTHWEST AT OR LESS THAN
5 MPH WITH SUNRISE...THEN INCREASE TO 5 TO 10 MPH BY AFTERNOON.
TRANSPORT WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 10 TO 15 MPH FOR THE AFTERNOON.
RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL DROP TO NEAR 40 PERCENT.
