Fire Weather Planning Forecast for E ND, NW and WC MN
National Weather Service Grand Forks ND
311 PM CDT Wed Mar 22 2017

.DISCUSSION...

It will remain cloudy this afternoon and evening. High pressure
will continue to move east and a warm front will approach the
area. Winds around these two systems will increase today and
continue into tonight, with gusts at times to 40 mph over eastern
North Dakota and the Red River valley. With the gusty winds,
expect good to excellent smoke dispersal. Otherwise, there may be
a little light snow or light rain this afternoon and evening,
mainly in southeastern North Dakota and west central Minnesota.

Thursday will remain mostly cloudy. A system to our south will
spread areas of light rain across the region into Thursday night.
With increased moisture, expect minimum humidities in the 50 to
60 percent range for Thursday. Any rain amounts will be light. It
will be drier on Friday and Saturday, with highs mostly in the
40s.
