Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
420 AM CDT Thu Mar 23 2017

.DISCUSSION...

Somewhat warmer conditions are forecast across northern Alabama
today through Friday, as an area of high pressure moving off of
the east coast brings a southeast to south flow to the region.
Despite increasing clouds, high temperatures across the region
today will range from the mid 60s in northeast Alabama, to the
lower 70s over northwest Alabama. Minimum afternoon relative
humidity values will range in the low/mid 40s percent range.
The warmer trend will continue tonight, with lows from the upper
40s east, to the mid 50s west - and maximum relative humidity
values in the upper 70s to upper 80s percent range. Friday will
feature dry weather continuing, with highs ranging from the
mid/upper 60s higher terrain to the lower 70s elsewhere.
Somewhat higher relative humidity values are expected on Friday,
in the low/mid 50s percent range.

Generally good smoke dispersion rates are forecast today, with
southerly transport winds of 15-20 mph around 5000 feet above
ground level. Fair to generally good dispersion rates are
expected during Friday.

A system to the west will move closer late Friday night and on
Saturday, bringing scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms
across the area - especially Saturday afternoon/evening. Some of
the storms could become strong to severe, with strong to damaging
wind gusts the main threat.

Fog potential over the next few days: None.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None.
