Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
306 PM CDT Mon Oct 23 2017

.DISCUSSION...

High pressure will settle in behind a cold front and bring dry
conditions across northern Alabama through the end of the work
week. Winds will be from the west to northwest on Tuesday, and
gust up to 18 mph at times. By Wednesday, winds will become
northwest to north and remain below 10 mph. RH values will drop to
between 35 to 40 percent through the week but remain above
critical thresholds. Mixing heights will rise above 8000 feet on
Tuesday, with transport winds around 20 to 25 mph. This will
create very good dispersion conditions across the area. Generally
good dispersions is expected on Wednesday, as transport winds drop
to around 15 mph and mixing heights rise to around 4000 feet. The
next chance for wetting rains will come late Friday into Saturday
as a cold front approaches the area.

Fog potential over the next few days: None at this time.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
