FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
246 AM CST SAT JAN 21 2017

.DISCUSSION...
SHOWERS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE NORTHEAST THROUGH
THE AREA THIS MORNING, AND EXIT BY MIDDAY. THEN ANOTHER
ROUND OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IS EXPECTED TONIGHT,
MAINLY FROM LATE EVENING ONWARD AS A POTENT UPPER LEVEL
LOW APPROACHES FROM THE WEST. SOME OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS
MAY BE STRONG TO MARGINALLY SEVERE, WITH LARGE HAIL AND
DAMAGING WINDS POSSIBLE. AS THE LOW MOVES EAST OVER
ALABAMA ON SUNDAY, ADDITIONAL SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
ARE EXPECTED. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF THREE QUARTERS TO ONE
AND ONE-ONE HALF INCHES IS EXPECTED TODAY THROUGH MONDAY.

AS THE LOW DEPARTS TO OUR EAST ON MONDAY, WINDY CONDITIONS
WILL DEVELOP AS SHOWERS END FROM WEST TO EAST. NORTHWEST
WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH WILL BE COMMON, WITH GUSTS OF 35 MPH
OR HIGHER POSSIBLE, ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHER TERRAIN. WINDS
WILL DIMINISH MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY AS A RIDGE OF HIGH
PRESSURE SHIFTS EAST THROUGH THE REGION.
