Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
Nantional Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
337 AM CST Sun Feb 19 2017

.DISCUSSION...

The passage of a deep upper level storm system will result in
elevated critical fire weather conditions over the SE NM Plains,
Upper Trans Pecos and portions of the Marfa Plateau, Van Horn area
and Davis Mountains this afternoon. Southwest winds will be 15-20
mph, and RH/s 15-20 percent in these areas. On Monday, many of the
same areas will have a repeat, except 20 foot winds will be from
the northwest and north, but minimum afternoon RH/s will drop to
10-15 percent particularly over SE NM. Recovery tonight will be
fair to good, and poor to fair Monday night.
