Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NW Oregon and SW Washington
National Weather Service Portland OR
252 PM PDT Tue Oct 17 2017

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...A weak cold front moving through the
region today. A much stronger front will bring rain and gusty
winds Wednesday and Thursday. There will be showers and a slight
chance of thunderstorms late Thursday and Friday between weather
systems. Another very wet front is expected over the weekend.

.DISCUSSION...A weak cold front is moving through SW Washington
and NW Oregon today. It is bringing light rain and breezy winds.
A more impressive frontal system will impact the region Wednesday
and Thursday. A warm front will bring rain mainly to the SW
Washington zones during the day Wednesday, along with increasing
SW winds along the coast and Willapa Hills. Then a trailing cold
front will drop down from the NW Wed night into Thu, bringing a
period of moderate-to-heavy rain along with gusty SW winds. The
strongest winds will be over the coast and coastal mountains,
where exposed terrain could see gusts in excess of 60 mph. Steady
rain will transition to showers later Thursday and Friday behind
the cold frontal passage. Some of the showers could be heavy, and
it appears that there could be a few thunderstorms around. The
best chances will be along the coast late Thursday, with the
threat potentially extending inland during the day Friday. Another
very wet and potentially winds system is expected over the
weekend. Pyle
