Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest Arkansas...
Northwest Louisiana...East Texas...and Extreme Southeast Oklahoma
National Weather Service Shreveport LA
706 AM CDT Sat Oct 21 2017

.DISCUSSION...
Warmer and more humid conditions are expected today, with isolated to
widely scattered showers and a few thunderstorms possible mainly over
extreme Eastern Texas, North Louisiana, and Southwest Arkansas. Min
RH`s this afternoon will range from 60-70+%, with the higher RH`s
over Southeast Oklahoma and Southwest Arkansas where the low clouds
look to persist for much of the day, thus limiting heating. Showers
and thunderstorms will develop later this afternoon along and just
ahead of a cold front that will enter Northern and Western Oklahoma,
with these storms organizing into a line as they march southeast
into Southeast Oklahoma, Southwest Arkansas, and East Texas after
midnight. Gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall are possible with
these storms as they enter the region late, but they should gradually
weaken as they move into Southwest Arkansas and Northwest Louisiana
around or just prior to daybreak Sunday. These showers and thunderstorms
will diminish from west to east during the day Sunday, but not before
producing widespread rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches. Cooler and drier
air will spill southeast in wake of the cold frontal passage Sunday,
with a return of more seasonable temperatures and lower RH`s Monday.
A reinforcement of cooler and drier air will follow with another cold
frontal passage Monday night, with below normal temperatures expected
through midweek before temperatures begin a gradual warming trend.
Another cold front will enter the region late Thursday night and
Friday, with scattered showers and thunderstorms again possible over
much of the area.
