FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS...
NORTHWEST LOUISIANA...EAST TEXAS...AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SHREVEPORT LA
709 AM CST TUE JAN 17 2017

.DISCUSSION...
A COLD FRONT HAS PUSHED THROUGH THE REGION EARLY THIS MORNING...AND
WILL BECOME STATIONARY LATER TODAY OVER SOUTHEAST TEXAS AND CENTRAL
LOUISIANA. NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE
THIS MORNING ALONG AND BEHIND THE FRONT OVER DEEP EAST TEXAS AND THE
SOUTHERN SECTIONS OF NORTHCENTRAL LOUISIANA BEFORE WEAKENING.
HOWEVER...SCATTERED SHOWERS MAY SPREAD BACK NORTH ACROSS EAST TEXAS
AND NORTH LOUISIANA THROUGH THE AFTERNOON...BECOMING MORE NUMEROUS
LATE TONIGHT AS AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE LIFTS NORTHEAST ACROSS
CENTRAL TEXAS. SHOWERS AND EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE WIDESPREAD
ACROSS MUCH OF THE REGION WEDNESDAY...FOCUSED NEAR THE FRONT AS IT
LIFTS BACK NORTH INTO EAST TEXAS AND NORTH LOUISIANA AND STALLS OUT
AGAIN. THESE SHOWERS AND EMBEDDED STORMS WILL GRADUALLY DIMINISH FROM
WEST TO EAST THURSDAY AS AN UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM KICKS
EAST ACROSS THE SOUTHERN PLAINS. RAINFALL AMOUNTS THROUGH THURSDAY
WILL RANGE FROM 1-3 INCHES AREAWIDE...WITH ISOLATED HIGHER AMOUNTS.
ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE WEEKEND...WITH
SCATTERED SHOWERS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED TO RETURN FRIDAY
NIGHT THROUGH THE WEEKEND.
