ECCDA DISCUSSIONS FOR YREKA AND MODOC CALIFORNIA DISPATCH AREAS
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MEDFORD OR
551 AM PDT Tue Aug 22 2017

ECC002-230700-
WEST YREKA-
DISCUSSION FOR WESTERN KLAMATH
551 AM PDT Tue Aug 22 2017

Southwest flow has developed in the mid-levels and will continue to
transport smoke into most of the area. Meanwhile, low pressure
over southern California will bring increasing moisture,
instability and strong enough trigger for scattered shower and
thunderstorm development mainly in the eastern half of the area.
Further west, thunderstorms should be isolated, but confidence is
low in this due to the combination of smoke and weaker trigger.
Scattered thunderstorms will again be possible from the Oregon
Cascades and Trinity Alps eastward Wednesday, though the primary
concern shifts northeast of the area.
