...FLOOD POTENTIAL...

THE FLOOD POTENTIAL IS LOW FOR THE ENTIRE STATE THROUGH THE WEEKEND.

...HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL DISCUSSION....

THE UPPER LEVEL PATTERN TODAY HAS A RIDGE FROM THE CONUS WEST COAST
THROUGH SOUTHEAST ALASKA AND OVER MOST OF THE MAINLAND... WITH LOWS
IN THE CENTRAL BERING TO SOUTH OF THE EASTERN ALEUTIANS AND SOUTH OF
THE GULF.  THROUGH THE WEEKEND THE LOW SOUTH OF THE GULF WILL ROTATE
AND OPEN INTO A TROUGH CONNECTED TO THE LOW SOUTH OF THE ALEUTIANS.
THIS WILL BRING RAIN TO KODIAK ISLAND AND THE AKPEN... WITH LIGHT
RAIN/SHOWERS SPREADING INTO THE SOUTHWEST MAINLAND.

...SNOW...

REPORTED LOW-MID ELEVATION SNOW DEPTHS ARE GENERALLY LESS THAN 48
INCHES ACROSS THE MAINLAND.  OVER THE LAST 7 DAYS SNOW DEPTHS HAVE
DECREASED STATE WIDE... WITH SEVERAL LOW ELEVATION STATIONS IN THE
SOUTHWEST MAINLAND AND IN SOUTHEAST ALASKA REPORTING NO OR PATCHY
SNOW COVER.

ICE THICKNESS MEASUREMENTS FOR THE START OF APRIL INCLUDE:
28 TO 30 INCHES IN THE ANCHORAGE AREA
34 INCHES IN THE LOWER MATSU VALLEY
37 INCHES NEAR TALKEETNA
19 INCHES AT MCCARTHY ON THE KENNICOTT RIVER
53 INCHES AT BETHEL ON THE KUSKOKWIM RIVER
40 TO 43 INCHES IN THE LOWER KUSKOKWIM RIVER
25 INCHES AT MCGRATH ON THE KUSKOKWIM RIVER
40 INCHES AT LAKE MINCHUMINA
51 INCHES AT GALENA ON THE YUKON RIVER
36 INCHES AT STEVENS VILLAGE ON THE YUKON RIVER
66 INCHES AT EAGLE ON THE YUKON RIVER
40 INCHES ON THE FORTYMILE RIVER AT THE TAYLOR HIGHWAY
22 TO 39 INCHES IN THE FAIRBANKS AREA
42 INCHES AT BETTLES
50 INCHES AT COLVILLE VILLAGE ON THE COLVILLE RIVER.

...LONG RANGE...

THE 6 TO 10 DAY TEMPERATURE OUTLOOK HAS INCREASED PROBABILITIES OF
BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES OVER THE CENTRAL AND EASTERN NORTH SLOPE
AND BROOKS RANGE... OVER THE EASTERN INTERIOR... AND OVER THE
NORTHERN PORTIONS OF SOUTHCENTRAL AND THE COPPER RIVER BASIN.  THERE
ARE INCREASED PROBABILITIES OF ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES OVER MUCH
OF THE SOUTHWEST MAINLAND AND OVER THE AKPEN.

THE 6 TO 10 DAY PRECIPITATION OUTLOOK HAS INCREASED PROBABILITIES OF
BELOW NORMAL PRECIPITATION OVER AND NORTH OF THE BROOKS RANGE. THERE
ARE INCREASED PROBABILITIES OF ABOVE NORMAL PRECIPITATION OVER THE
SOUTHWEST MAINLAND AND MOST OF THE SOUTHCENTRAL MAINLAND... AS WELL
AS NEAR THE ALCAN BORDER IN THE SOUTHEAST MAINLAND.
