...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* EVENT...Hot and humid conditions will continue with high
temperatures in the mid to upper 90s. When combined with the
humidity, heat indices will range from 105 to 109 degrees.

* TIMING...Heat index readings of 105 plus can be expected mainly
during the afternoon and very early evening hours.

* IMPACT...Heat related illnesses may become possible for those
outdoors, especially when out in direct sunshine.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take extra precautions to prepare your body for any sort of work
outside today. Consider rescheduling exercise and strenuous
activities before or after the hot afternoon readings. Know the
signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke such as the
chills or a sudden lack of perspiration.

It is best to wear light weight and loose fitting clothing. Drink
plenty of fluids such as water before, during and after exposure
to the heat. When possible, seek an air-conditioned space or at
least time spent out of the sun and remember to check on
relatives, neighbors and pets.
