...NWS Confirms Tornadoes in Fellsmere (Indian River County)
and Rockledge (Brevard County) on Friday, August 18, 2017...

(1)  Eyewitness observations, photos and videos helped confirm
that a tornado (landspout) occurred in an unpopulated area
west of Fellsmere at approximately 540 PM EDT. The tornado lasted
about three minutes and affected an agricultural area, midway
between Blue Cypress Lake and County Road 512. No damage was
reported. The tornado is rated EF-0, with winds estimated at 45-55
mph.

(2)  Eyewitness observations, photos and videos helped confirm
that a tornado (landspout) occurred very briefly in Rockledge at
approximately 630 PM EDT. The tornado lasted less than a minute and
damaged a carport on Green Road, crossed S. Fiske Boulevard and then
damaged the roof of a home on Buckingham Court. The tornado is rated
EF-0, with winds estimated at 60-70 mph.

The NWS thanks Indian River County and Brevard County Emergency
Management and Sheriffs Offices, SKYWARN spotters, local citizens and
Orlando news media for providing reports and relaying photos and
videos.
