RIVER SUMMARY FOR NORTH CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST MONTANA

A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE ACROSS THE AREA LATE THIS AFTERNOON. SHOWERS
AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP ALONG AND BEHIND THE FRONT. AT THE
ONSET OF PRECIPITATION TONIGHT...SNOW LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO BE
BETWEEN 7500 AND 8500 FEET INDICATING RAIN MAY FALL ON TOP OF
MOUNTAIN SNOWPACK INCREASING THE RATE OF SNOWMELT. SNOW LEVELS WILL
FALL OVER THE MOUNTAINS OF SOUTHWEST MONTANA LATER TONIGHT ALLOWING
THE RAIN TO CHANGE TO SNOW. COOLER AIR WILL ALSO MOVE INTO THE AREA
WEDNESDAY...SLOWING THE SNOWMELT.
