.DISCUSSION...
A dynamic day is expected Monday. Critical fire weather conditions are
possible, mainly in the southern Nebraska panhandle. Red Flag Warnings
have been posted for FWZs 436 and 437 in the southern Nebraska Panhandle
from noon to 7 PM Monday. Showers and thunderstorms may develop Monday
afternoon over the High Plains. Then, a strong cold front will push
through in the afternoon or evening, bringing the potential for westerly
wind gusts of 50+ MPH in its wake. While precip is expected, confidence
is highest in wetting rains (or accumulating snows in the higher elevations)
along and west of the Laramie range. Precipitation will be more spotty to
the east, but most areas should see at least some light rain. Strong
northwest winds return Tuesday over the High Plains.
