REGIONAL WEATHER SYNOPSIS FOR THE NORTH CENTRAL UNITED STATES
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SIOUX FALLS SD
238 AM CDT TUE JUL 8 2014

THE DAY WILL START OFF MOSTLY SUNNY ACROSS THE REGION. HOWEVER...AS
THE TEMPERATURE RISE THROUGH THE MORNING...CLOUDS WILL INCREASE OVER
THE EASTERN DAKOTAS...MINNESOTA AND NORTHERN IOWA. THIS WILL BRING A
SLIGHT CHANCE OF AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS FOR MUCH OF MINNESOTA AS
WELL AS EASTERN NORTH DAKOTA AND NORTHEAST SOUTH DAKOTA. ANY SHOWERS
THAT DO OCCUR ARE EXPECTED TO BE BRIEF. THE SHOWERS WILL GRADUALLY
END DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON AND EVENING AS TEMPERATURES BEGIN TO
COOL. OVER THE WESTERN DAKOTAS AND NEBRASKA...SKIES WILL BE SUNNY
THROUGHOUT THE DAY. HIGHS TODAY WILL BE IN THE 70S AND 80S.

HIGH PRESSURE WILL SETTLE OVER THE NORTHERN PLAINS TONIGHT. THIS
WILL RESULT IN CLEAR SKIES AND LIGHT WINDS ACROSS THE REGION. THIS
HIGH WILL SLOWLY MOVE OFF TO THE EAST ON WEDNESDAY. AS IT
DOES...WINDS WILL BECOME SOUTHEAST OVER THE DAKOTAS AND NEBRASKA.
THIS WILL SLOWLY BRING WARMER AIR AND MORE MOISTURE BACK INTO THE
REGION. WITH THE INCREASING MOISTURE...THERE WILL BE A CHANCE OF
THUNDERSTORMS WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON OVER WESTERN NEBRASKA AND
SOUTHWEST SOUTH DAKOTA. LOWS OVERNIGHT WILL GENERALLY BE IN THE
50S...AND HIGHS ON WEDNESDAY WILL RANGE FROM THE MID 70S OVER
NORTHERN MINNESOTA...TO AROUND 90 DEGREES IN SOUTHWEST SOUTH DAKOTA.
