...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...
...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following
  counties, Grimes, Montgomery and Walker.

* WHEN...Until 500 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads
  remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated
  with water and may not be passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1257 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is
    already occurring. Multiple reports of impassable roads
    around Huntsville. Between 5 and 9 inches of rain have
    fallen.
  - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
    expected.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Huntsville, Riverside, Huntsville State Park, Crabbs Prairie,
    Richards and Roans Prairie.
  - This includes the following Low Water Crossings...
    Interstate 45 East Frontage Road at Nelson Creek, River Oaks
    Drive at Prairie Branch, Interstate 45 E Frontage Road at S
    Bedias Creek, State Highway 75 at Town Branch, Sunset Lake
    Road at McDonald Creek, North Freeway Service Rd near Bedias
    Creek and State Highway 75 at Town Branch.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
