Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
353 AM CDT Sun Mar 17 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Fuels will be wet. An area of showers and thunderstorms has
already moved across the northern half of the area associated with
a weak upper level disturbance. As this activity shifts east there
will be a brief lull in the convection but additional widespread
rain is still expected this morning before tapering off from the
northwest later this afternoon as a cold front moves through the
area. Drier weather and cooler than normal temperatures are
expected tonight through Wednesday morning. Temperatures will
warm back to normal Wednesday and rain chances will return
Wednesday night and continue into Friday as another low pressure
system moves into the region. Patchy fog will accompany the
rainfall but no dense fog is anticipated this morning or Monday
morning.
