...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of Lubbock County.

* WHEN...Until 1000 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 909 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is
    ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
  - Heavy rain with up to 0.5 inch in 15 minutes are likely with
    these thunderstorms. This additional rain will result in
    minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Lubbock, Wolfforth, Texas Tech University, Downtown Lubbock,
    Lubbock South Plains Mall, Reese Center and Lubbock Science
    Spectrum.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
