Areas affected...northern and western Oklahoma and northwest Texas

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 165...

Valid 302347Z - 010045Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 165
continues.

SUMMARY...Severe threat continues within WW165.

DISCUSSION...Thunderstorm activity continues near the surface
dryline across northern and western Oklahoma into northwestern
Texas, with periodic reports of large hail (up to 3 in) and a report
of a tornado in southwestern Oklahoma. The dryline has receded
westward in the last hour. Additional storm development will be
possible over the next hour. The threat should gradually diminish by
mid evening, though a few isolated supercells with a threat of very
large hail, damaging winds, and a tornado are possible prior to this
expected weakening. The tornado threat will be dependent on storm
scale evolution of mergers and boundaries where surface vorticity
can be maximized.
