...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTH CENTRAL CRAVEN...EAST
CENTRAL PITT...SOUTHWESTERN HYDE...SOUTHERN BEAUFORT AND PAMLICO
COUNTIES THROUGH 600 PM EDT...

At 529 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms near Royal, or 16 miles southeast of River Road, moving
south at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Washington, River Road, Belhaven, Ransomville, Blounts Creek, Pamlico
Beach, Cayton, Lowland, Florence, Wilmar, Edward, Grantsboro, Royal,
Bonnerton, Cox Crossroads, Bayview, Olympia, Winsteadville, Core
Point, and South Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
