  Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau affecting Alexander, Union,
  Jackson, Perry, Cape Girardeau and Scott Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau.

* WHEN...Until Thursday, May 16.

* IMPACTS...At 36.0 feet, The flood gate on Themis Street closes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 10:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 33.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 35.5
    feet early Monday afternoon. It will then fall below flood
    stage Thursday, May 16.
  - Flood stage is 32.0 feet.
