IT WAS A WARM AND HUMID JULY NIGHT ACROSS SOUTH DAKOTA WITH DEW
POINT TEMPERATURES IN THE 60S. THE AIR WAS MUCH DRIER HOWEVER ACROSS
THE FAR NORTHWEST WITH A DEW POINT TEMPERATURE AROUND 50 DEGREES AT
BUFFALO AROUND DAYBREAK. LOW LEVEL CLOUDINESS ACROSS CENTRAL
NEBRASKA CREPT NORTHWARD INTO SOUTH CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST SOUTH
DAKOTA LATE. OTHERWISE OVERNIGHT SKIES WERE MOSTLY CLEAR WITH HIGH
LEVEL CLOUDINESS OVER THE NORTH AND WEST DISSIPATING LATE.

EARLY MORNING LOW TEMPERATURES WERE IN THE LOWER AND MID 60S ACROSS
THE WEST...AND IN THE MID AND UPPER 60S EAST AND CENTRAL. EDGEMONT
WAS THE COOLEST ON THE PRAIRIES AT 58 DEGREES WHILE IN THE BLACK
HILLS CUSTER FELL TO 55 DEGREES.

OVERNIGHT WINDS WERE FROM THE SOUTH AND SOUTHEAST AT 5 TO 15 MPH
ACROSS THE EAST AND CENTRAL...AND LIGHT ACROSS THE WEST.

AT 11 AM CDT LOW LEVEL CLOUDS COVERED THE AREA EAST OF A PICKSTOWN
...HURON LINE. THE REMAINDER OF THE STATE WAS SUNNY WITH A FEW
CLOUDS WEST OF SISSETON. MUCH OF THE STATE HAD WARMED INTO THE UPPER
70S AND LOWER 80S ALTHOUGH CLOUD COVER OVER THE SOUTHEAST HELD
TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER AND MID 70S. EXTREMES WERE FROM 72 AT
YANKTON TO 87 DEGREES AT PHILIP.

EXTREME HEAT WAS EXPERIENCED ACROSS THE STATE ON THIS DATE IN 1934.
HOTTEST TEMPERATURES EXCEEDING 110 DEGREES WERE COMMON ACROSS THE
CENTRAL. HIGH TEMPERATURES FROM THAT AFTERNOON INCLUDE...
