IT WAS A VERY HUMID JULY NIGHT ACROSS SOUTH DAKOTA WITH DEW POINT
TEMPERATURES AROUND 70 DEGREES ACROSS THE EAST AND ALONG THE
MISSOURI RIVER VALLEY...AND IN THE 60S ACROSS THE WESTERN PRAIRIES.
IT WAS MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE BLACK
HILLS HOWEVER WITH DEW POINT TEMPERATURES IN THE 40S AND 50S.
OVERNIGHT SKIES WERE MOSTLY CLEAR BUT LOW CLOUDS AND FOG FORMED LATE
OVER THE EAST...WHILE MID AND HIGH LEVEL CLOUDS INCREASED OVER THE
WEST AND CENTRAL.

EARLY MORNING LOW TEMPERATURES WERE IN THE UPPER 60S TO AROUND 70
ACROSS THE EAST AND ALONG THE MISSOURI RIVER VALLEY...AND IN THE
60S ACROSS THE WEST. ABERDEEN AND CUSTER WERE THE COOLEST IN THE
STATE AT 62 DEGREES.

AT 11 AM CDT SKIES WERE MOSTLY SUNNY OVER THE WEST AND NORTHEAST
...AND MOSTLY CLOUDY CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST. TEMPERATURES WERE
IN THE UPPER 70S AND LOWER 80S ACROSS MUCH OF THE STATE BUT HAD
WARMED INTO THE UPPER 80S AND LOWER 90S ACROSS THE SOUTHWEST AND
SOUTH CENTRAL PRAIRIES. EXTREMES WERE FROM 77 DEGREES AT PIERRE AND
WATERTOWN TO 92 AT PHILIP.

THIS DATE IN 1934 WAS VERY HOT WITH TRIPLE DIGIT HEAT ACROSS THE
STATE. SEVERAL LOCATIONS HIT OR EXCEEDED 110 DEGREES. HIGH
TEMPERATURES FROM AROUND THE STATE INCLUDE...
