RAIN AND SNOW ENDED ACROSS EASTERN SOUTH DAKOTA WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON
AS LOW PRESSURE MOVED FROM NORTHEAST NEBRASKA INTO NORTH CENTRAL
IOWA. PRECIPIATION FELL AS SNOW ACROSS THE EAST CENTRAL AND
NORTHEAST...AND AS RAIN DURING THE MORNING AND EARLY AFTERNOON
BEFORE SWITCHING OVER TO SNOW NEAR AND WEST OF SIOUX FALLS. CLEAR
LAKE RECIEVED 4.5 INCHES OF SNOW... DE SMET AND IROQUOIS 3 INCHES
...AROUND 2.5 INCHES FELL IN BROOKINGS AND WESSINGTON SPRINGS WHILE
HURON RECIEVED 2.2 INCHES AND SIOUX FALLS 0.8 INCHES. OTHERWISE
AFTERNOON SKIES WERE CLOUDY WITH SOME BREAKS OF SUN ACROSS THE WEST
AND NEAR MOBRIDGE.

TEMPERATURES WARMED INTO THE 40S AND 50S ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST DURING
THE LATE MORNING...EARLY AFTERNOON BEFORE NORTHERLY WINDS BROUGHT
SHARPLY COLDER AIR AND FALLING TEMPERATURES. YANKTON WAS THE WARMEST
IN THE STATE WITH A HIGH OF 61. ELSEWHERE ACROSS THE STATE DAYTIME
HIGH TEMPERATURES WERE MAINLY IN THE 30S ALTHOUGH LIMITED SUNSHINE
ACROSS THE WEST AND NEAR MOBRIDGE ALLOWED READINGS TO WARM INTO THE
LOWER AND MID 40S.

AFTERNOON WINDS WERE QUITE BRISK FROM THE NORTH AND NORTHEAST AT 15
TO 25 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS...ESPECIALLY EAST. HIGHEST WIND GUSTS
WERE 37 MPH AT MITCHELL AND 43 MPH AT YANKTON.

AT 8 PM CDT SKIES WERE CLEAR BETWEEN MOBRIDGE AND ABERDEEN AND
POINTS SOUTH TO NEAR ONIDA AND MILLER. THE REST OF THE STATE WAS
CLOUDY. TEMPERATURES WERE MAINLY IN THE 30S WITH EXTREMES OF 28
DEGREES AT WATERTOWN TO 39 AT PINE RIDGE. WINDS WERE FROM THE NORTH
AND NORTHEAST AT 12 TO 24 MPH ACROSS THE EAST...AND FROM THE
NORTHEAST AND EAST AT 5 TO 15 MPH ACROSS THE WEST.
