THE EASTERN THIRD OF SOUTH DAKOTA WAS STORMY THIS AFTERNOON AND
EVENING...WHILE THE CENTRAL AND WESTERN PARTS OF THE STATE ENJOYED
LATE SUMMER MILDNESS. RAINFALL AMOUNTS IN THE EAST WERE UP TO 1.32
IN THE SOUTHWEST PART OF SIOUX FALLS. OTHERWISE...DECREASING
CLOUDINESS WAS SPREADING EASTWARD ACROSS THE WESTERN HALF OF SOUTH
DAKOTA...AND IS EXPECTED TO REACH THE EASTERN HALF LATER THIS EVENING.

HIGH TEMPERATURES ACROSS SOUTH DAKOTA THIS AFTERNOON WERE IN THE 70S
TO MID 80S. IN THE BLACK HILLS...CUSTER ONLY MADE IT TO 70 DEGREES.
ACROSS THE PLAINS...HIGHS RANGED FROM 74 DEGREES AT BUFFALO...TO 85
AT WINNER. A COUPLE OTHER WARM PLACES WERE CHAMBERLAIN AND HURON...
BOTH REACHING 83 DEGREES.

AT 8 PM CDT / 7 PM MDT...THE SKY OVER THE WESTERN HALF OF SOUTH
DAKOTA WAS CLEAR TO PARTLY CLOUDY...WHILE THE EASTERN HALF OF THE
STATE WAS MOSTLY CLOUDY TO CLOUDY. SCATTERED SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS WERE SOUTHEAST OF A LINE FROM PICKSTOWN ERWIN.
TEMPERATURES WERE MAINLY IN THE UPPER 60S TO MID 70S. IN THE BLACK
HILLS...CUSTER WAS A LITTLE COOLER...WITH 63 DEGREES. ACROSS THE
PLAINS...READINGS RANGED FROM 66 DEGREES AT ABERDEEN...TO 75 AT
CHAMBERLAIN.

OVERNIGHT...THE WESTERN AND CENTRAL THIRDS OF SOUTH DAKOTA WILL
REMAIN MOSTLY CLEAR. THE EASTERN THIRD WILL SEE THE SCATTERED
THUNDERSTORMS MOVE SOUTHEAST AND DISSIPATE DURING THE EVENING...
FOLLOWED BY DECREASING CLOUDINESS AND AREAS OF FOG BY EARLY MORNING.
LOW TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE PRAIRIES WILL RANGE FROM THE LOW AND MID
50S NORTH AND WEST...TO AROUND 60 SOUTHEAST.
