A MOSTLY SUNNY SKY PREVAILED OVER SOUTH DAKOTA...AS HIGH PRESSURE
WAS SLIDING OFF TO THE EAST OVER MINNESOTA AND IOWA. A WARM FRONT
WAS NUDGING NORTHEAST OUT OF NEBRASKA INTO SOME OF THE SOUTH CENTRAL
AND SOUTHWEST PARTS OF SOUTH DAKOTA...WITH SOME ADDITIONAL MID AND
HIGH LEVEL CLOUDS AHEAD OF IT IN THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST PARTS OF
THE STATE. SOUTHEAST TO SOUTH WINDS WERE BRINGING WARM AND DRY
CONDITIONS BACK INTO THE RUSHMORE STATE TODAY...BUT THERE WERE ALSO
SOME THUNDERSTORMS PUSHING IN FROM WYOMING THIS EVENING. NO
PRECIPITATION HAS BEEN REPORTED IN SOUTH DAKOTA THROUGH 8 PM CDT /
7 PM MDT.

HIGH TEMPERATURES ACROSS SOUTH DAKOTA THIS AFTERNOON WERE IN THE MID
70S TO MID 80S. EVEN THE BLACK HILLS WARMED INTO THE MID TO UPPER
70S...WITH CUSTER COMING IN WITH A MAXIMUM OF 77 DEGREES. ONE OF THE
WARMEST TOWNS ON THE PLAINS WAS WINNER...REACHING 86 DEGREES. PINE
RIDGE WAS ALMOST AS WARM...WITH 85. THE COOLER PLACES TODAY WERE IN
THE NORTHWEST...NORTHEAST...AND SOME OF THE EAST CENTRAL SECTION OF
THE STATE. MADISON WAS ONE OF THE COOLEST...WITH 75 DEGREES...WHILE
FAITH...WATERTOWN...AND SISSETON ALL SQUEEZED OUT 76.

AT 8 PM CDT / 7 PM MDT...A MOSTLY SUNNY TO SUNNY SKY WAS OVER THE
MAJORITY OF SOUTH DAKOTA...BUT A BAND OF THICKER MID AND HIGH LEVEL
CLOUDS...CENTERED FROM FAULKTON TO CANTON...MADE SOME OF THE
SOUTHEAST PARTLY SUNNY. TEMPERATURES WERE MAINLY IN THE LOW 70S TO
AROUND 80 DEGREES. EXTREMES ON THE HOUR RANGED FROM 72 DEGREES AT
CUSTER...TO 82 AT BOTH PINE RIDGE AND WINNER. WINDS ACROSS SOUTH
DAKOTA WERE OUT OF THE EAST OR SOUTHEAST AT 7 TO 15 MPH...WITH GUSTS
OF 18 TO 23 MPH AT BUFFALO...FAITH...AND HURON.

A PARTLY CLOUDY SKY SHOULD PREVAIL OVER SOUTH DAKOTA DURING THE
OVERNIGHT HOURS...BUT THERE WILL ALSO BE A SLIGHT CHANCE OF
THUNDERSTORMS WORKING THEIR WAY EASTWARD ACROSS THE WESTERN AND
CENTRAL THIRDS OF THE STATE THIS EVENING. AFTER MIDNIGHT...THERE
COULD ALSO BE A FEW THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING OVER SOME OF THE EAST
CENTRAL SECTION OF SOUTH DAKOTA. LOW TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE SOUTH
DAKOTA PRAIRIES WILL BE IN THE UPPER 50S TO MID 60S...BUT THE BLACK
HILLS ARE FORECAST TO DIP INTO THE MID TO UPPER 50S.
