Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North-Central Montana
National Weather Service Great Falls MT
414 AM MDT Thu May 2 2024

.DISCUSSION...

A low pressure system slowly tracking east along the Montana
and Saskatchewan border will maintain a moist northwest flow
across the area with wet snow or snow showers affecting most areas
today. Heaviest snow accumulations are expected across the Little
Belts and Highwoods with most mountains ranges seeing some
accumulations while little or no accumulation is expected at
elevations below 4000 feet. Temperatures remain cooler than
average for early May through Friday with drier conditions
developing Friday and Saturday and milder temperatures expected
this weekend. The next spring storm system begins to move into the
region Sunday with an increased risk of showers and thunderstorms
by Sunday evening. Hoenisch
