FLASH FLOOD STATEMENT

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 345 AM CDT FOR
REAL AND NORTH CENTRAL UVALDE COUNTIES...

AT 145 AM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING
HEAVY RAIN ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. BETWEEN 2 AND 3 INCHES WITH
ISOLATED AMOUNTS UP TO 5 INCHES HAVE ALREADY FALLEN IN A BAND FROM
JUST WEST OF REAGAN WELLS TO JUST WEST OF LEAKEY. AN ADDITIONAL 1/4
TO 1 INCH IS POSSIBLE OF PORTIONS OF THE WARNED AREA. FLASH FLOODING
IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN SHORTLY.

SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...THE DRY FRIO
RIVER AND CREEKS THAT FEED INTO THE DRY FRIO RIVER IN SOUTHERN REAL
AND NORTHERN UVALDE COUNTIES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY. MOVE
TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS
SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.  IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHERE
YOU ARE RELATIVE TO STREAMS...RIVERS...OR CREEKS WHICH CAN BECOME
KILLERS IN HEAVY RAINS.  CAMPERS AND HIKERS SHOULD AVOID STREAMS OR
CREEKS.
